Official inauguration of the GRAND ARM2 TEM at NTNU in Trondheim

As part of NORTEM, the new GRAND ARM2 is the latest high-end transmission electron microscope at NTNU.


On December 2–3, 2025, the TEM Gemini Centre at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim officially inaugurated its new GRAND ARM2 transmission electron microscope. The JEM-ARM300F2 instrument is part of the national NORTEM II research infrastructure and significantly expands the capabilities for advanced analytical investigations in materials science.

More than 100 participants from academia and industry attended the event. In addition to the official opening ceremony, a scientific seminar with internationally renowned speakers showcased recent developments and applications in modern transmission electron microscopy.

JEOL is proud to support the continued advancement of cutting-edge TEM research and infrastructure in Trondheim with this installation.
